One of the Clubs best sites!

This was only our second time in Wales so was a little uncertain about the location suiting our needs. However the site is in a good location for accessing much of north Wales and Snowdonia, taking in Anglesey, the coast and beaches, castles, railways, industrial archeology, countryside, lakes and a diversion to Tuscany! It is our kind of site and much preferred and superior to the many flat club sites designed to the club design formula which leaves them devoid of character. Laid out in a woodland setting with pitches grouped on different levels it avoids the rows of caravans look of many sites. The landscaping is lovely, the children's play area very generous and whilst small, the dog walk is enough to allow fido to do what he/she needs to do. The wardens were very helpful and hopefully not too upset with wasting their time with my self inflicted electrical issue on arrival..... least said! It is a site we hope to return to. However be aware if you like to eat out the local pub has now closed (didn't look exciting and any pub with a sky sports banner immediately puts me off) so you have to drive to access anywhere to eat. I was full of cold for most of our stay and the weather didn't help so we did not explore as much as anticipated or do much walking in the area. Nevertheless we had a train ride to Ffestiniog, visited Portmeirion (as an architect this was a dream visit), Harlech castle ( not for those with vertigo!). One disappointment is the train up Snowden doesn't allow dogs on board and neither can you take dogs into many places including Portmeirion, be warned - initial impressions are it is not an overly dog friendly area.
