Blooming Brilliant

Absolutely brilliant site! We called to ask if there was a holding area as we where early. Debbie advised that we could park in the Pub, Bryn Arms car park. We did and it had plenty of space to turn and wait with our caravan. Debbie was lovely she explained the site and we pitched up. Darren and Michelle explained some local beaches that where dog friendly. Ian and Jackie chatted about the local beauty spots and the best places to park. Husband had an epic and truly unique and exhilarating experience on Velocity 2 at Zip World. and what we didn't know was if its not really busy you can have a second Zip for £35.00. Remember that you do not get overalls at Zip World so even on a hot day long trousers and sleeves are recommended. They also have dog kennels however we did not use them. The Mac Loop is tremendous and keep your fingers crossed for fair weather, you can walk to some viewing sites ( Rather steep) we just dropped lucky one day and saw them whilst in the car. Jackie referred to the Guinea Foul noise as a squeaky bike pump ha ha which was very accurate. The site is in the perfect place to explore wales, the secluded beaches, the vast green mountains. I would defiantly recommend Black Rock Sands, pay the £5.00 and stay all day., Left is no dogs Right, which is massive is dog friendly, check the tide times so you get the most of the day, you can walk for miles, its safe to swim and body board, you park on the beach, yes you do, and that's brilliant because all your stuff is in the car, one tip don't forget your chairs! and check the route as one is not suitable for big motorhomes. Seashells beach is incredible and was very choppy but watching all the tents on the cliff tops was entertaining in a gale, this is also a pay £5.00 beach but again its vast and very popular. We ate at the Bryn Arms pub across the way it was ok, busy fair food at a fair price. If you have the Friday all you can eat curry remember it stops just before 20:00 however bar food is served until 21:00. I'm not going to harp on about the toilets' while we stayed some ladies where completing a bat survey as the facilities are being demolished and renewed at the end of the 2022 season, so nowt to say about it other than the staff work very hard to keep them clean. The whole site is lovely, staff are fab! yes we would return as we have only explored a tiny bit of what North Wales has to offer, and the site is lovely. The dog walk is near the kids playground and offered heaps of shade. And visit the power station the noises are incredible.

Absolute gem

Wonderful rural site in hills above Porthmadog. Set out in several distinct areas with different character in each. Lots of interesting places to visit in the area. Wardens very friendly and hard working. Very knowledgeable about local area. Added bonus was fish and chips from van in village on Thursday night

another great stay at Coed-Y-Llwyn

always one of our favourite sites, and didn't disappoint for our 3 night stay over a long weekend. great weather, warm welcome from the site wardens and very clean facilities. Also I must mention the help I received from one warden in particular - much appreciated even if I disturbed your busy lawn cutting schedule. thankyou!

A great stay

I enjoyed a stay of 6 nights to go walking and visit some of the old slate quarries, for which the site is well placed. I found the site to be well laid out (I for one saw no weeds), with excellent facilities and very helpful staff. What more does one want?

Disappointed

I cannot knock the first impression of this site nor the greeting by the staff, however when you move further into the site from the entrance the pitches are not well kept. Ours had weeds that were a foot tall and the grass had obviously not been cut for some time. At night there was also a constant humming noise from the nearby power station which is definitely a blot on the landscape and in view from our pitch. The staff were friendly and the toilets immaculate but would not return.

A lovely peaceful weekend break

Literally just got home from a weekend at Coed-Y-Llwyn and really impressed with the site. Check in was a pleasure - being greeted by name as I walked into the office, and with available pitches marked on the site plan, making it so much easier to quickly and easily find a pitch. The site itself is spread across several areas, the first being an open loop giving a spacious feel and then well spread out pitches in groups between the trees. Lots of nice touches like the 'help yourself' herbs in plant pots near reception, and well kept flowers in pots. Other people have commented on the narrow access road - it wasn't a problem with a 7'6" caravan, it's a residential road with cars parked on on side. One pointer when leaving site - the T-junction onto the main A road is on quite a hill - if there's a queue it can be a bit of a steep hill start especially if you've got a heavy caravan. Overall worth it though - we'll definitely be back.

Excellent site

Stayed two nights last minute booking. Very friendly and helpful staff waiting until our arrival to close the office. Very clean and quiet with good access to surrounding attractions. Betws y coed village a must visit. Only small gripe for me was there are only 3 showers so early showers meant a small queue but not a major concern just an observation. Great pub/food 2 minutes walk. We would have no hesitation in staying again. Thank you Malcolm & Denise Newcastle upon Tyne

Lovely 3 night visit

We had a very relaxing stay for three nights. A very tight entrance to site. Very clean and good facilities. We walked to the reservoir which was stunning and also to the local waterfall which was extremely beautiful.good dog walk on site. Lots of fields with sheep in so off lead exercise for dogs is limited.

Welcoming and relaxing

We have just left this site and I really wish we were still there. We had a very warm welcome from Ian and his lovely wife who were very accommodating and friendly. The site has lots of little areas so you don’t feel on top of each other and it has a really relaxed atmosphere. We found the facilities very clean and more than adequate. Plenty of hooks in the showers to keep your belongings dry and lots of lovely hot water flowing well. We found plenty to do in the area hence wish we had stayed longer. Had a lovely meal at the Bryn Arms which was so close to walk to. I really don’t have anything negative to say we don’t generally stay on club sites but would definitely return to this one. Thank you so much for providing us with a lovely holiday destination.

Holiday fun

Just come back from a a lovely week. This site is fab for a base to do all the local activities like climbing Snowdonia, zip world. The site is lovely and clean and the wardens are friendly and helpful. The pub across the road serves good food decent helpings and value for money. My only complaint would be the bins are at the reception area instead of at the water/waste area like all the other sites area. But it hasn’t put me off and would stay here again 😊
