Good for families

A mixed experience

The site is great, in a good location and with plenty of walks in Clumber Park. The walled gardens, maintained by the National Trust are looking fabulous at the moment and the cafè, shop and bookstore in the park (around a 30 minute walk) are great for a browse and a cuppa. The site itself is large with level pitches and fantastic and clean facilities. As reported by previous members the check in is a little officious and I too struggle to understand why we have to show a membership card when we have booked via a personal login to the club website and where my outfit registration number and description is retained. There is no phone reception here which means that the WiFi should be excellent and it is not. There was a poster that advertised the wardens help in getting onto the WiFi as the site was experiencing problems. I asked for that help which did not result in my getting onto the WiFi. I wandered around Clumber Park and found spots of decent 4G but this is hit and miss. I needed to be in some contact with family so this was a worrisome one night stay that could have been alleviated by access to WiFi. It needs to be sorted out.
