The staff could not have been more helpful - arrived Xmas Eve for a 3 night stay and we were offered wine, chocolates and mince pies - thank you! One toilet block temporarily closed but the main block is more than adequate, clean and secure. We love the fact that trees surround the site and are also grouped within it. WC lockdown for cleaning was between 10-11.30am. Do go for walks if you can - the main Clumber VC about 35 minutes or more if you go down the Lime Tree Avenue - no entry charge if walking or cycling - great cafes, two of which on site are dog friendly and great walk around the lake. The walled garden is amazing, free to enter and well worth visiting. Fantastic setting and not far off the A1, though far enough that you would never know on site. Quieter times to visit the site in spring-autumn are Sunday to Thursday as we understand it. Will return - some previous criticisms of the WCs by others - but we have no problem with them whatsoever.
