School Holidays - Beware the Bikes

Firstly - Thank you to the lovely wardens who greeted us with genuine warmth and worked tirelessly to maintain the facilities during these unprecedented times. The site was well kept, with close cut grass and had evidently been re-chipped in some of the hard-standing areas. Fantastic walks with the dog into Clumber Park. Our only issue was with the large groups of cyclists who congregated on the site each evening to race around the pitches at speeds well in excess of 5mph. As ex-teachers we should have known better than to book during school holidays. We like children - it goes with the territory - but this did appear to be unchecked and one evening a youngster had a very close call with our A frame. Clumber Park itself has excellent, well marked cycle trails; perhaps recreational cycle racing could be prohibited on site to ensure safety and enjoyment for all.

Hi we too had similar issues, bikes racing around the roadways, also the small copse opposite our pitch (no 7) was used as an unofficial childrens play area until 10pm. climbing trees , chasing and yelling, all the things that children do.

The play area was closed off, due I am sure to official advice, but with no social distancing at all from the children, it would have been better for all if the had utilised the play area.

Also the copse was also used as an "onsite" dog walk by several campers. No issues with the site and the hard work by the wardens however perhaps they should have gripped the issues.

Finally, the only site I have been on that has security guards walking the site at night.
