Return Visit
It must be over 25 years since we were last at Clumber Park. Pleasant welcome from the staff on reception. We found a free hardstanding pitch although our choice was a bit limited as we arrived mid afternoon. The one we chose was near the toilet block but also near the play area. OK a bit noisy at certain times of day but the kids seem to be enjoying themselves and it didn't cause us any inconvenience. As an observation on the play area, I would have thought the kick about area should have some fencing round it, if only to stop the smaller kids being hit by a heavy football playing on the play equipment next door? An Unusual H&S lapse from the Club there? Not much to say about the WiFi as it's pretty poor but I understand this is being attended to. Shame the Club can't work with the Mobile Networks to get a signal near the site. Interesting to see the new bike/dog wash, not seen anything like this before. As a motorhomer I found the service point particularly disappointing for two reasons, firstly it still required heavy drain covers to be removed in order to empty waste water and secondly the position of the drains makes it difficult to align the motorhome. Having said all that it is a very pleasant campsite with lots of opportunities for walks or cycle rides from just outside the site.
