This is a picturesque site surrounded by woodland. It is generally quiet at this time of year with the exception of weekends. The site is well looked after by the wardens. Unlike some other people on site I found the toilet block keypads quite easy to use compared to certain other CC sites. One of the downsides is that despite the wi-fi rating being bronze we could not access it at all, considering this with the fact that there is no mobile signal either we had to go offsite to use our phones. Also the toilet/shower block we used, whilst it was always clean, was a little past its sell by date and one cubicle was closed off as the shower unit was coming away from the wall. Lastly being dog owners we were concerned to see the notices on the toilet block doors stating the following: - “In recent years, during autumn, several dogs walked in woodlands suddenly became ill. In some cases, unfortunately dogs did not recover. Cases of this illness, named Seasonal Canine Illness (SCI) are usually seen from August to November. Please seek immediate advice from your vet if you are concerned about your dog.” Whilst the surrounding woods were ideal for dogs we would not risk our dogs unlike many others who did.
