Have been visiting this site on many occasions since the late 1970's. We stayed for 7 nights at the beginning of September for the first time in ten years and were disappointed at the careworn appearance of the site. The wardens obviously work hard but their efforts don't seem to make much difference. The showers in particular are long overdue for refurbishment. The approach road needs resurfacing, being full of pot holes which if not attended to will only get worse. We booked to avoid school holidays but forgot about the popularity of the site for families at the weekend. The excellent play area did not seem as popular to the many children as playing around the toilet blocks or riding the wrong way round the site roads often accompanied by adults! Will I go again? Perhaps, but only Monday to Friday. The location and normal peace and quiet will probably tempt me!
