Good for families

Lack of consistency with food options and still poor internet

Clumber is one of those places you need to think well ahead in regards to food. We have been fortunate recently during two visits to a most excellent pizza van visiting both Wednesdays and Saturdays who do a mean Vegan Pizza. So - off we trotted for a quick night away only to find said van not going that evening. We waited outside reception wondering what to do as this was our only plan and said - let's look at the internet.... and, despite the Club mag saying internet had vastly been improved on the site - there was none to be had and thus, we had to take an hour and a half trip to Sainsbury's in Worksop to get some provisions. The Club should make it clear on the site info when booking a site where food vans are invited in, and therefore one becomes accustomed to this fact, that there would not be one on specific days.

Nearest Sainsbury is 15 minutes away. (6 miles)

The pizza van might only have decided to have a day off. Can't update the club site every time a food van goes on holiday laughing

The mind boggles undecidedlaughing.  Where do pizza vans go on holiday?

Maybe similar to busmen?

Did you ask at the office  to the reason the van did not appear? before complaining on here about something that  would possibly need a crystal ball to predict ,did you have  the fish and chips or any burgers from the other "visiting" vans,?

The internet was fine this last week when we were there? got home monday

Well, this clearly isn’t good enough! The absence of the pizza van clearly ruined this member's holiday and I think HQ should stand by to deal with the complaint and arrange to recompense him in a meaningful way. Perhaps a special pizza delivery could be arranged........I know the very person.cool

Seriously, Amodelto, this moan about a trivial matter, and that’s exactly what it is, hardly constitutes a review of the site which is what the review section is for. The clue is in the name. You’ve not mentioned the ambience of the site, the facilities, nearby amenities, availability of public transport and so on. Instead we learn that the cheese on toast van didn’t turn up. Mind blowing! surprised

Well your first, and so far only, contribution to CT has at least given me a little chuckle, A. Perhaps the club could add details of all possible visiting food suppliers to the site Web page,  along with the price information - oh, and obviously update it regularly, maybe hourly if the delivery van has broken down? As for driving all that way to Sainsburys (thank goodness for 24 hour opening!) are there no pubs, restaurants,  cafes around Clumber Park which could have satisfied your requirements?
