Clumber is always a favourite of ours and the site is in a great location we usually visit at the beginning of the season and again towards the end of November. Imagine our disappointment when he who shall remain nameless had booked one day short for our intended stay, no problem we will just add an extra day on line as at the time of the year ithe site shouldn’t be full........ How wrong can you be the site was completely full, the reason been numerous pitches had to be left to dry out after the horrendous snow and subsequent heavy rain. Clearly the wardens had been up against it in trying to sort out the problems, so telephoning on a Friday night at the start of the week- end caravan arrivals was perhaps optimistic on our part to try and extend our booking, what sort of a response did we encounter a bright and cheery voice on the end of the phone who managed to convert a recent cancellation to an on line booking without us having to go on line and risk loosing the slot before it showed up on the system. During our stay although the wardens were still up against the aftermath of the weather nothing was to much trouble and all done with a friendly smile.....Now that’s what I call above and beyond service.
