A little relieved to be leaving!

We only booked a short stay but during this time we found the site clean and tidy and the wardens very helpful. The site is located adjacent to Clumber Park so there are loads of walks and cycling straight off the site. I think I preferred the cycling as the walking tends to be along bridleways. Sherwood Forest is a short cycle ride from the site. The surrounding area is very beautiful. A few minus points. There are two shower blocks but only 4 showers were available in each. On a busy site the wardens had difficulties keeping up with the traffic in and out of the shower blocks. They would certainly benefit from some refurbishment. The main issue for us was the ongoing reminders that cycle theft is rife. To counter this the police apparently patrol the park at night. The Caravan Club have erected 2 large but discreet cycle sheds that have cctv and are alarmed. We were grateful for this facility but our holiday was tainted by the ongoing concern that this area had a major theft problem. It is certainly not the Clubs fault, but I felt a little relieved to be leaving with all my possessions. I may be over reacting but I love the peace and security of the Caravan Club sites, something Clumber park failed to deliver.
