First timers

We chose clumber park as it was our local site and it was our first time both towing and caravanning, a lovely peaceful site even though it was fully booked, lovely clean ablutions and the staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. We have 3 boys aged 5, 3 and 2 and they loved the paths into the woods straight from the site and loved walking and cycling them. Didn't take a TV so can't comment on the signal but the children's play area was also great so after hours in the fresh air the kids were fast asleep without the need for a TV!  Will definately be back numerous times as it's open all year with good spacious hardstanding pitches! Maiden Voyage

This was the maiden voyage not only for our new caravan, but also for us as caravanners. We chose Clumber as it was only 10 miles from home,so far enough to be away for the weekend, but close enough to home should we have forgotten anything! We had what can only be described as I super time. From when we arrived we were greeted by the team on site with friendly smiling faces and a very well explained introduction to the site and its facilities. We found the facilities brilliant.Plenty of water points, waste points etc and the toilet and shower blocks were immaculate and were cleaned every day.Anyone who 'moans' about this site must moan about everything in life!Couldn't fault it,and if this sets the standard for the caravan club sites then we are chuffed that we joined. We will definitely be back

connectivity minimal, site office invisible

This site has an excellent National Trust estate location and the walking and cycling from the site is superb. I think that is why it is so popular and perhaps explains a lack of investment. There is no mobile signal on site and very very poor wifi and you need a tv booster cable. Needs investment Caravan club. Although we were there in early season, the site was full ( some pitches not in use) for the weekend and yet there is only one pair of wardens on site and only one toilet block open. Also, there was no sign indicating office opening hours and I would expect it to open before 0930 on a sunday morning when the site is full. Our needs were simple, we only wanted change for the tumble dryers, so we wouldn't of course ring the emergency number, but it was inconvenient not to know what time the office opened.Warden's attitude didn't appear member centric, but perhaps there should be two couples on this site, perhaps he is overworked.

First trip of 2015.

Third time we have visited Clumber, weather behaved, the dog had a great time. Great value with kids for a penny. Very relaxing and peaceful. Wish it had been for longer than a cheeky weekend break. We will return soon.

Dissapointed

Clumber is our local site and we have stayed here many times and loved it. This time when we arrived we were told to only use the top end of the site. I can understand that the grass pitches are off limits at times and even closing one of the toilet blocks when the site is quiet but we have never been denied our choice of hardstandings before. We did what was asked and kept to the top end but it quite took the enjoyment out of our stay. Also I think the toilet blocks are ready for a bit of refurbishment. I am very sorry to downgrade our opinion of this wonderful site but I will think twice before coming here again.

Showers need attention.

Visited last week. During the 6 night stay I noticed the top toilet block showers getting colder each day. I visited at varying times ranging from 7am to 9.30am. Thought I would have a "friendly" word with the Warden who was cleaning the block. I was told, " boiler is working as it should you must be visiting at the wrong time" I guess I must have imagined the issue and took the time to bring it to his attention for no other reason than to be an inconvenience to him. Where the hell do the club get these people, do they not get basic Customer, yes Customer because anyone who believes this is still a club would also believe the showers were hot get any training? Apart from that small issue which would have not been an issue if it was not for the wardens attitude we would have enjoyed our stay at this wonderful site.

Dogs Heaven

No matter how many times We visit this site we always enjoy it, so many different walks from the site the car never moves. Good hard standings although a few are prone to holding water!! Two good amenities blocks but one is now closed until march?? as are some hard standings !(When site is full at weekends Come on CC Not good enough) No phone signal as usual And again I found it impossible to get on the wifi!! As have many people! Come on club sort it out!! But as usual enjoyable stay and will be going back yet again!!

Wardens Exceptional

Just returned from a great stay at this wonderfully located site. On our first day out we experienced a fault with our car just near reception. As there is no mobile signal Andina and Mike Heywood came to our rescue. They informed us when the RAC would be arriving and after 30 mins we were on our way. Thanks again. The area is outstanding and as National Trust members one of the best sites in our 15 years of caravanning. Dont miss out -Visit this site.

first great few days away 2015

A great welcome. From the Warden's, the site was as usual in good order. We had only one problem which we hold the caravan club responsible for, not the wardens, as there was no phone signal we rely on the WiFi but there was NO  WIFI SIGNAL AGAIN!! Come on caravan club we pay extra for this and answer would be nice please. Otherwise we had great few days  and will go back as there's plenty for our needs. Thanks to the great Warden's.
