We were looking for a quiet getaway in the school holidays... didn't think we would manage it... but then we discovered Clachan! What an absolute gem of a site, lovely woodland pitches, the warden was really helpful and friendly, site kept clean and tidy. The local town Killin has a few good shops, the co-op opens until late for all your groceries, there is a post office, some nice restaurants, although advisable to book in advance as they seem to fill up quite quickly.  Would love to come back again to Clachan, one of the best Caravan sites we have stopped on. If you can do without the toilet and shower blocks and want to escape from it all look no further!  Thank you to the lovely warden who made us feel really welcome and to the staff at Maragowen site who were just as lovely and helpful. (You book in at Maragowen site just down the road from Clachan and they give you the barrier code. Maragowen site is more open and has facilities so may be better suited for families.) We were also told that fishing is available from the Maragowen site if you are booked at either there or Clachan as they have a permit :)
