It's in the countryside!

One of my measures of the tranquility of a site is how much road noise can be heard at night. Chatsworth scored full marks. Even during the day, traffic noise was only discernible by the odd motor bike going past on the main road on the way in search of an accident. At night there was silence. Yes, there are trees AND birds too, it's in the countryside, and yes some pitches get only minimal sunshine during the day. But this last week, the shade during the day on pitch 116 suited me well, as did the shade onto pitches 115 and 114 according to the inhabitants there. Some trees are in need of surgery, but I am led to understand that there are a number which are protected by preservation orders; and I imagine too, that the " the Neighbours next door " may have some say over the amount of arboreal activity which is permitted? It is however testament to the overall care invested in the site that such restrictions are in place and observed. I commented on just how FEW dogs were there last week; compared to some other club sites, there was a significant diminution in numbers of dogs observed. I'm not a dog owner although I'm a dog lover, but I have been to sites where the pitches have been overrun by dogs. Still don't understand why CMC doesn't make a separate charge for them? There must be additional costs in maintaining dog walks? Only beef about this stunning CMC site is the single track approach road; at busy times it's a nightmare for all, and tolerance is the order of the day. I understand that widening may not be a viable option; is it beyond the wit of man to come up with a compromise? Staggered arrival times, say 1 pm for all members whose surname begins with A,C,E,G etc and say 2.30 for any member whose surname begins with B,D,F,H etc? Not ideal - but neither is a queue caused by the simultaneous arrival of more than 30 vans on a single track road. The wardens do their best, and do it with a smile which should always be reciprocated - but there MUST be a better way? Cracking site - and the fact that it's SO difficult to book a pitch says something doesn't it?
