Another enjoyable stay

We`ve just returned from another excellent weekend at this site. Wardens have changed since our last visit but as usual the site staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We had our two grandchildren with us on this occasion ( 5 and 4 respectively ) and on their behalf I would like to say thanks to the wardens for the way they dealt with the two of them each time they popped into the office. The kids thought it was great !. Found a really nice place to eat in Baslow too ", Charlies café and Bistro ". Seats 36. Excellent food and knowledgeable staff. It`s located on Church street directly opposite the church. Well worth a visit, we`ll certainly eat their again on our next visit to Chatsworth.

Location, location, location

Visited Chatsworth park, for the first time, towards the back end of March. If you assess the site by removing its location it is no better or worse than most of the Caravan Club sites. They have set every high standards and all the sites we have visited hit the mark. However, when you introduce the location into the assessment then this site stands out an excellent site, this is obvious by the many accolades it receives. It must be one of the most difficult sites to book a reasonable stay on, as it is always fully booked. A couple of very minor comments: if you are a light sleeper then the dawn chorus may disturb you, whilst we were at the site the dawn chorus included the resident Pheasant and the local Crows. Secondly there are a number of Crows nesting in the trees that run parallel to the walled area and they can leave quite a mess, particularly when bringing up their young. There are a few pitches that are directly beneath the nests. In summary an excellent site that is well run and maintained and is in an idyllic location. Will return, if we can book more than a couple of nights.

Great site

We have just returned from 3 days at the site, we stayed there so we had easy access to the horse trials, we bought tickets for the trials but found out it's free access after 3pm so will probably do that in future. The site is very nicely laid out, TV signal is poor using caravan aerial though it did seem to improve for some reason, mobile phone reception  is average but wifi was very good, I was able to watch football on Sky go.  Toilet block was always clean and warm.  Staff were very friendly, queue was 20 caravans long to get in on Thursday and they dealt with it very well, apparently Sunday's are the busiest days to enter so expect queues if arriving shortly after the 1pm entry..The crown pub in Bastow was quite nice, they seemed to do a good range of food, usual pub stuff. Steak, ribs etc.  was disappointed with Bakewell, too touristy. Nothing good I could see, apart from a large coop for stocking up.

Lovely site for a quiet weekend

We chose this site for our first weekend away in our newly aquired caravan. The wardens were helpful and friendly and the site is very well kept. The toilet blocks are spotless (which as a novice caravanner my husband had heard some horror stories) as are all other areas. We thought the site was very quiet and the only outside noise we heard at night was from the small farm next door - a few donkeys shouting didnt bother us! The only thing i would say is that the playarea is very small and on the last morning when everyone was packing up and had sent their kids to play out the way it was cram packed! However that is the only downside we found and we had a lovely time and wouldnt hesitate to return. The gate into the parkland is a lovely added bonus and we had wonderful walk up to the house with our children. A free morning out.

Excellent site

This is an excellent site which the club should be proud to on its network The wardens are really nice and helpful even coming out at 10.15pm to sort our electric which had gone off The shower block is modern and spotless The site is right next to Chatsworth House with miles of walks and things to see Only one problem we found which was nothing to do with the site was the cost of everything at Chatsworth and especialy the farm shop which was very expensive All in all we had a lovely four days and would defiantly reccomend the site and we will be back

Very Noisy at Night

We thought this would a peaceful quiet site, but the noise from the Chatsworth Hospitality late into the evening was terrible, there was constant gun fire during the day from the clay pigeon shooting. Definitely not recommended for a quiet weekend, not what we expected. On the positive side, the site staff were excellent and the site was very well kept, the facilities were very good.

First timers

This was our first stay on a club site as new members of the Caravan Club. If this site and the team there are indicative of the standards that we can expect, then we'll both be happy bunnies for a long long time! This was a beautiful site in an outstanding location with facilities second to none. We were so grateful for the welcome and the help that we received from the wardens and it made our first stay a perfect one!. Many thanks to everyone on the site, we'll be back!

First and not last visit

What a beautiful site! The wardens obviously work extremely hard to maintain the site in tip top condition. It is an absolute credit to their efforts. Upon arrival "check in" would rival any top hotel for speed, efficiency and helpfulness and we much appreciated this after a long journey. Nothing is too much trouble for the wardens and their knowledge of the area is willingly shared. Thank you so much for a truly great visit.

Another great stay at Chatsworth

On our return to Chatsworth CC site we were again not disappointed. Maintained to a very high standard with immaculate toilet and washing facilities. A very pleasant site with access to the Chatsworth estate and miles of excellent walking. Avoid feeding the ducks near your van though or you'll soon be inundated with them. They are totally trusting of people and one came in our van!!

Dissability friendly

We have been to this site a few times now, allways recieved a warm friendly welcome from the wardens, who do a great job keeping this site in tip top condition,my wife uses a dissability scooter and finds with the access to the Chatsworth estate, she has her freedom, miles of pathways within the estate to explore, and with access to the local village, where you can eat and drink inside and out,you can also gain access to the house and gardens for a fee,but the main attraction for her is the freedom to roam amongst the deer, sheep and cows.will we be back, yes we will.
