First and not last visit

What a beautiful site! The wardens obviously work extremely hard to maintain the site in tip top condition. It is an absolute credit to their efforts. Upon arrival "check in" would rival any top hotel for speed, efficiency and helpfulness and we much appreciated this after a long journey. Nothing is too much trouble for the wardens and their knowledge of the area is willingly shared. Thank you so much for a truly great visit.

Another great stay at Chatsworth

On our return to Chatsworth CC site we were again not disappointed. Maintained to a very high standard with immaculate toilet and washing facilities. A very pleasant site with access to the Chatsworth estate and miles of excellent walking. Avoid feeding the ducks near your van though or you'll soon be inundated with them. They are totally trusting of people and one came in our van!!

Dissability friendly

We have been to this site a few times now, allways recieved a warm friendly welcome from the wardens, who do a great job keeping this site in tip top condition,my wife uses a dissability scooter and finds with the access to the Chatsworth estate, she has her freedom, miles of pathways within the estate to explore, and with access to the local village, where you can eat and drink inside and out,you can also gain access to the house and gardens for a fee,but the main attraction for her is the freedom to roam amongst the deer, sheep and cows.will we be back, yes we will.

Great mid week break

I tried to book this site for the Easter weekend but was unable to. Having taken a ride out to the area over the holiday weekend on the motorcycle and seeing how busy it was I am glad I could not get on. I did book mid week the following week and took my six year old granddaughter, and what a break it was. We were up early every day( not much choice with the resident pheasants and ducks demanding to be fed ) there was so much to do that I felt we could have stayed longer. If you go to the animal park and adventure park remember to take a picnic. We spent 5 hours in there and the kids can run about all day running off that excess energy.  Chatsworth house is a tad expensive for a whole family but is worth the visit. The site is very clean and well looked after and the staff very pleasant and accommodating. Some of the pitches are a little tight but everyone seems happy to help if you are struggling to get your van in to the pitch. The shower block was always clean. The bonus for me was the close proximity of the river Derwent for our canoing trips. My granddaughter said it all " it's never boring when I come away with you"

Another great Easter

This was our second year that we have spent Easter at Chatsworth.  It is a lovely well maintained site. The wardens are very welcoming.  The location is great for touring the area. There are lots of walks direct from the site and the village of Baslow is in easy walking distance.  We will return.

Usual High CC Standard

Spent a few days after the Bank Holiday and all the usual CC high standards in place. Only one toilet block but I never saw a queue for the showers etc. Very friendly and attentive wardens. So central for many attractions nearby. There is a discount for entrance to Chatsworth House and gardens but doesn't include the children's play area if that's all you are interested in. Me and the wife were sleeping in the awning as we had family with us so the dawn chorus with all the birds singing at 5.15am negated the need of any alarm clock:)

Lovely site- but the local area is very, very busy.

We visited this Easter and had a great stay. This is  a site with a very rural look and feel, situated at the end of a single track lane. However the local traffic was incredibly busy, with significant queues around the site entrance at Baslow. Also for a family, the entrance fee to Chatsworth is a bit on the steep side, particularly for those with a National Trust membership. The Park is also incredibly busy with cars seemingly parked everywhere- which does detract from the rural beauty of the place. I would try and avoid Bank Holidays or even school holidays if possible.

Another lovely stay.

We visited this site over Easter Weekend. It is a beautiful site with direct access to Chatsworth Park. We have a dog so it is ideal for walking him. The site facilities are very clean. The wardens are helpful and friendly. We visited Chatsworth house and used the receipt from the caravan club which gave us discount to enter the house and grounds. It was well worth the visit. The Grouse Pub at Froggatt Edge serves great food at reasonable prices. Fischers in Baslow is lovely if you want a treat. A fabulous site that never disapoints.

Another great stay at Chatsworth

Fantastic stay again. Wildlife magnificent, very peaceful , Grandson accompanied us on this visit. Once he had established some new friends we only saw him at meal and drink times. Weather was really nice on this occasion. Even had to extend our stay because he was enjoying the site so much. No computer games, just genuine activity play, this is in my view what children are missing in our crowded Island.

Fabulous site in heart of Derbyshire

Really enjoyed the stay at this caravan site. Lovely clean toilet block. Although our children have grown up, the site appeared to be good for children. Being on the doorstep to Chatsworth House with free access to the perimeter grounds the location is fabulous. The wardens are particularly helpful in marshalling vehicles in and out as it can be a bit congested when caravans are booking in at the reception. All the wardens wore a happy smile and welcoming face at all times and this was very much appreciated. Would definitely like to visit this site again in future.
