Congested toilet block, rubbish wifi

The site advertises two toilet blocks on site. However only one is open. You are not advised of this on arrival and if you pitch near the entrance you have to walk to the far end to reach the toilet block which only has three showers and three toilets. Around 8 30 to 9.00 it is full. Why is the other block shut. There were circa 50 vans on site at the time. The new WIFI system is not good. If on the free club wifi you are off after 1 hour and only if you check your phone can you see this. There is no reception at the far end of the site The premium WIFI does not offer a yearly subscription.

Perfect for Cadbury’s World

We stayed in our twin axle touring caravan first stop of an 8 stop UK adventure. Used as a base, specifically for a planned visit to Cadbury’s World. Site was in close, approx 15 minutes down the road. Pitches were nice and large with ample parking. Bathroom facilities were clean, although within the mens unit the only hand dryer was out of order with no alternative means available. Proximity and availability of waste water, fresh water and garbage bins were good. Site was very quiet, in terms of pitch’s occupied. We did visit the local farm shop, which after some advice, should you choose to visit, ensure you advise the cashier of your CMC membership to ensure a 10% discount, prior to final total/bill. There is nothing to keep the kids entertained, aka play park or similar. Our assigned pitch was almost at the end of the “one way” system, located at the back of the site. We struggled to get any TV reception. however road noise was almost nothing Follow the provided arrival guidance, as expected our sat nav would have taken us down a road that would be not suitable for a vehicle and caravan. Would we stay again? Yes, was a perfect stop off to cut down the time travelling from the South Coast of the UK prior to heading further north.

Lovely quiet site

Lovely quiet site, nice size pitches. Toilets and showers were spotlessly clean at all times. Staff were friendly and helpful. Beckett Farm shop was brilliant for fresh fruit and veg, lots of specialty products and reasonably priced.

Ok as a stopover

The site is conveniently located close to the M42, so it's a good stopover. I would not use it for any longer than one night. The site is scruffy and in need of attention. The pitch we went on to, had dog mess all round the edges. Not the fault of the warden but having read other reviews, I do wonder if this would have been a member. Not much else to say really, just to echo what has been said in other reviews.

Ideal stop over

Well the site wardens were very friendly and helpful. But the site looked tired and in need of some updating. Only one shower block was open and only 3 showers available not good for a site of this size, all showers were in use so went back later and all ok. Not a fan of not cutting the grass if you want the wild look then wild seed need to be sown and it would give some colour. Certain pitches looked like they were in a car park on tarmac with boxes separating the pitches. Very convenient for the M42 about 2 miles away. Would use for a 1 night stopover.

Mixed Bag

On a positive note - the site is well located not far from the M42 so a convenient stopover or good if you're working in / visiting Birmingham with Wythall station a 5 minutes drive or 25 minutes ish walk away. Becketts Farm Shop is about 5 minutes away and is excellent, well worth a visit. But on the flip side - the site looks scruffy, there are potholes in the roads around the site and parts of the site resemble a large concrete car park. Only one facilities block was open when we were there despite the site being busy, so it was frustrating to have to wait to use dishwashing and laundry facilities when you know there is an unused block on site. Also, when we were there, several "travellers" appeared to be staying, with unattended children and dogs, toys, litter and random garden implements strewn over relevant pitches, cars going the wrong way around the one way system, washing being left to dry on the railings by the toilets etc. The fact that there is a notice on the toilet block door stating that "Failure to respect these facilities will result in their closure" or words to that effect, didn't look great either, never seen that anywhere I have stayed before.

Disappointed

Stayed one night prior to event the next day at NEC. We’re very unfortunate to have a couple in a VW transporter pitch next to us, disturbed by constant doors opening and closing, approx 4 hours the Friday night, only to be woken by it all again at 0545 next morning till they left at 0630. Not the sites fault but on letting the warden know when we left, felt he wasn’t too concerned and possibly proud of the non member status and the fact you can leave at any time of the morning. I think the site needs to address that. Grounds didn’t appear well maintained and only 1 toilet block.
