Booked a non awning pitch literally 2 weeks before arriving. It pays to keep looking at their booking schedule. Fantastic site for a base to either sit and chill or adventure out on the many walks and places to visit. Literally 7/8 minutes to walk into Castleton and probably the same the opposite way into Hope. Many walks all around the site. Every pub except one allows dogs inside with allowing them in the beer gardens.
Site facilities are as good as any I've come across, very clean and tidy with lots of the too.
Pitches mostly level with a few scattered around the site where ramps may be required.
Works on a first come first serve basis, you drive around and pick your spot, setup and report your pitch number to reception.
I repeat this is a great sitting in a lovely part of the derbyshire countryside.
We were here for a weekend in Castleton, and walking up Mam Tor. The site is a short walk from the town with some excellent pubs, shops and food outlets.
The site itself is clean, friendly, and all the facilities are really clean and comfortable.
We will definitely be returning.
Great location for Motorhomers within gentle strolling distance of the delightful Castleton and on a bus route. Wonderful walks in the area although the Castleton walks leaflet is dreadfully confusing and we met many lost souls !!! An expensive site at £41 for a small motorhome, 2 adults and small dog but I guess it’s a tourist hotspot. As with all club sites it was spotlessly clean and the wardens were delightful. Highly recommend The George pub , absolutely delicious food .
A great welcome from the warden who greeted us on arrival. There were a few people already in the queue but it was great to see that we were allowed on site to choose a pitch first before heading back to reception to pay. This avoided a lot of waiting.
The site is very quiet and the facilities were clean and modern. The wardens were very helpful.
You can easily walk into Castleton or Hope from the site either along the main road or on public footpaths. There are shops in Castleton selling most things you would need including newspapers and a larger Spa in Hope. There are also a lot of pubs. We didn't eat at any but enjoyed a drink in the gardens in the sunshine.
We mostly walked around the area during our stay and the walk up to Mam Tor and along the ridge was a highlight. We also caught the bus to Bakewell on the Monday (market day). We had a great time and would return.
Stayed at Castleton for four nights staff out of this world 🌎 great location for walks from the site and some fantastic pubs, fish &chips on Saturday's at the site.
We are back in October can't wait keep up the great work.
Last week we booked 3 nights at Castleton ( we've been many times before ) The site is always spotless and the wardens always very good. I feel I must just give extra praise to the wardens, especially the one who dealt with us on this occasion. During our first day and during the night I was taken ill, and we had to leave the next morning. The warden my wife dealt with was so helpful and understanding of how something can change in a short time, including when you have looked forwards to getting away on a break. It's great when wardens show they are humans too, and understand the need for an understanding and caring attitude towards members, well done and thank you !!!
We stay unfortunately only for two nights on this great place inside the Peak District.
Absolute clean, a warm welcome and a super friendly Service to search and retain our next pitch on the way from Wales to South. A Game Room for Ping Pong and Billiard is here - this is strange and superb !
Around the Place many nice Restaurants, some interest Shops where you can get rid of your Money and much Ways to explore, for Kids Ice cream, Sweetie Shop and Pizza - for Mom and Dad some nice Bars for a cool Drink...
And a big Castle Ruin on the Top !
Well, so have Fun !

Lovely little site. Easy flat walk to the village which is very pretty. Local shops and plenty of pubs. Caves within easy reach as is Peveril Castle. Lots of walks in the area. Will visit again.
Lovely site, really handy for Castleton and Hope (easy walk to both) and all the activities they offer. Toilets, showers etc.. and washing up areas are really well kept and clean. Loved the "help yourself" herb garden too. Check in was easy and efficient even though we didn't arrive until 1900. One of the quietest sites we have ever stayed on and we were amazed at how many people just spent all evening sat in their very expensive vans just watching TV! This was a shame as we felt there was very little atmosphere on the site even though both evenings were lovely and we are used to people sitting outside and chatting to each other. There is a nice dog walk on site and our dog was shattered from doing the Mam Tor and Losehill walk.
Lovely clean site with good facilities. Staff helpful and friendly on check in. Easy stroll in to Castleton with a selection of pubs that is astounding for the size of the place. Most are dog friendly. Great fresh made baguettes from the shop on the high street. Loads of great walks from the site. Spoilt slightly from lots of early vehicle movements though it was a Friday.
