Peaceful and relaxing

Can’t fault this site! After breaking down in our new to us camper van as soon as we arrived, the wardens couldn’t have been more helpful. We eventually had to send for breakdown assistance and as there was little or no Wi-Fi nor phone signal we were thankfully given access to the phone in the reception. The site itself is wonderfully quiet and peaceful with an emphasis on local wildlife. The walks from the site itself are wonderful and scenic with good access to the Carsington water reservoir. The dog walk around the site is fabulous with lovely views over the water in places and is good and long with a number of bins at various points. The whole site is beautifully maintained and kept spotlessly clean, a credit to the hardworking and cheerful wardens who we couldn’t thank enough for their assistance during our stay

Wow! This site will take some beating!

Absolutely beautiful site. Stayed for 3 nights. The site is in a woodland setting with lots of different areas and levels. I stayed on pitch 99, out of the way in a more rural setting. Just perfect. The dog walk is the best I've seen on any site and then carsington water is a short stroll away. Will 100% return.

Perfect place to unwind

I have stayed here twice now, beautiful site and set in a small pine forest. Plenty of walks around area, nice easy walk to carsington water visitor centre and reservoir. The site is beautifully tended and the staff on site very friendly and helpful, will definately be coming back.

Very relaxed stay

Booked onto Carsington Water Club campsite on our way to p/ex our Caravan, wish we'd booked for longer. Lovely, relaxed, friendly site. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly female warden who we spoke to a few times whilst wandering around. Good mixture of couples, families, individuals all pleasantly passing the time of day, it was an absolute pleasure to be part of it. Dog walk was a really good area, the views over Carsington Water were fabulous. We will definitely be back for a longer stay.

Truly amazing site

Just spent a weekend at Carsington Water campsite, what an absolutely amazing place to go! Far the best we've ever visited. So peaceful, beautiful setting, great surroundings, spotless, clean facilities. Fish & chips van on Friday evening, pizza tent on Saturday. The staff is very friendly & super helpful. Will definitely be back.

Very family friendly*

I’d certainly agree that this site is family friendly. It very much has the volume to match. Dogs, crying children & ball games all being very much part of the family experience. We had two nights booked and left after one, as did at least one other couple, with another lovely husband and wife who didn’t wish to join in the game of bat and ball being played right at the side of their van shortly to join us. At what point does being “family friendly” remove the need for any kind of consideration for others ?.

Always a treat

We first came here with our 2 children in the late 1980s and now come with their children. We had a lovely time the last long weekend of the Easter holidays, and although it was cold, windy and wet, a good time was had by all, even managed a full circuit of the reservoir by me and the eldest granddaughter on our bikes. Wardens have come and gone over the years, but in our experience, they have all been helpful and friendly, and the site and facilities have always been well maintained. Definitely one of our favourite sites.

Lovely break at Carsington

We have visited this site before and we’re glad we were able to come back for a long weekend break. The site is not far from Carsington Water and ideally placed for a good walk. The wardens are friendly and really helpful. The site itself is great with spacious pitches . Toilet blocks are nice and clean. TV reception is good and there have been a selection of food trucks visiting since we have been here. Ideally placed for a trip to Ashbourne or Denby. Hopefully we will return soon!

Great for any lovers of the outdoors

Stayed here in March 2024 for our first weekend of the season. Lady on reception (sorry I didn’t get her name) was very helpful in suggesting and recommending pitches. Pitches are really well set out and very spacious and the wardens do a great job keeping the site clean. We found a suitable pitch and the gentleman walked up from reception to give us a barrier key to save us the walk back down as it was raining. The site has great access to Carsington Water. We walked the full trail round which works out about 8 ish miles and is largely on gravel tracks. The site is very quiet in the evenings and there is a fish and chip van which visits the site as well as a pizza van. On different evenings if you want a night off cooking. We didn’t try them ourselves but seems a very good option to have. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would definitely return

First Break of the year

This was our first trip of the year in March,Would have liked a good walk around the reservoir but unfortunately the recent wet weather had made the paths very wet and muddy. I did venture onto some of the trails with my mountain bike the views are excellent. The site is in a beautiful location easy access to carsington water and the high peak trail. All in all It was a nice relaxing week will return at a different time of year when hopefully things will be a lot drier.
