Magic!
It might not be the easiest site to get to, but my word it was worth it! We were there in early May, and watched the gannets diving into the sea from our caravan. The facilities were fine, the warden extremely helpful and friendly, there were seals off the rocks and fantastic walking everywhere. Coming from the south, it is worth considering a hop across via Arran in one direction or the other - just for a change. Also check dogs for ticks if walking in the forest. There's a good gin distillery within walking distance and the local milk/ice-cream from the voluntarily-run little shop nearby is the best!
