Fantastic 2nd Visit

We first visited Carnon Downs in 2021 on our first visit to the West Country just after the club had taken the site over. We were very impressed with the site but a lot of elements were still restricted due to cover restrictions. When we decided to make a 2nd trip to the SW both my wife and I were adamant that our furthest away site would be Carnon Downs. After a 530 mile journey we stayed at the site for 7 nights from 28th June to 5th July. We were delighted to see that nothing had changed and the site was still as excellent as it had been on our first visit 3 years previously. The facilities blocks are the best we have experienced, we stayed in Yellow Carnon which only has 12 pitches and is right beside the block. Yes there was a bit of road noise but nothing that disturbed us. It was nice to see that Will, the son of the previous owner still works there along with the other site managers and staff. The cafe/bar is very nice and their freshly baked croissants in the morning are delicious. There are food vans Monday through Saturday and we can highly recommend the Fish & Chips and Sourdough pizzas. This time we sat with a drink and sampled the entertainment on the Friday & Wednesday and both singers were very good indeed. If you are thinking of going to this part of Cornwall I would highly recommend Carnon Downs and it is a relatively short drive to the main attractions. We visited Bodmin Jail, the Heritage Tour is great, The Lizard, Falmouth, St Michael's Mount, The Minack Theatre and Penzance.
