Spotlessly Clean

I stayed here for 2 nights from the 9th January 2016. The site is impeccably clean and tidy. I've never seen anywhere so clean! The location is perfect to use as a base to discover lots of places in the south west. I drove over to Land's End and back easily. I would highly recommend this site.

Short Break

Only had 4 nights at this site - and during possibly the worst weather for years - but found it to be really pleasant with a high standard of cleanliness! There is a lot to do and see within a 25 mile radius - too much to mention here! The local pubs do good food but at a slightly inflated price (although not too expensive). We will be back next winter without doubt!

A Real Treat

This might be our favourite site ever ! The long trip to Truro and remembrances of typical Cornish lanes made the thought of towing to the site a bit daunting, but all the way right to the entrance to the site is a really easy drive with good roads all the way. This site is set out beautifully, wonderfully landscaped and immaculately kept with spotlessly clean toilets, showers, laundry rooms and baths !! Yes, a bath is available onsite ! what a treat, also a small but handy dog walk. There is so much to do from this site, so a week only saw us scratch the surface but masses of information is available at the onsite reception and we particularly enjoyed walking from the site to the dog friendly Punchbowl and Ladle for a tasty evening meal. Just a 3.6 mile, 6 minute drive to The Hall for Cornwall and Truro City Centre, we'd love to return to this site.

flowers

This site is very pretty with all the blue pink white flowers around the site. we are a family of 4 and had an enjoyable 14 night stay. The weather was not too great with rain most days but we didnt let that spoil anything. site very clean and tidy especailly the toilet and shower areas. It is a very central site to explore cornwall but you do have to drive to most places unless you are a very capable walker and have no young children with you. You can hear the main A road but only at night when everything is quiet. Will come back to this site in the future. Thank you to Simon and staff who are very friendly and helpfull.

Central Hub...

This site was recommended to us by some very valued friends, if they say it's good... It's good! And.. they were right. We had a 6 night stay during late August 2015, there was just my wife and myself in our caravan. The toilets / showers were exceptionally clean and modern, staff very friendly too.. the chip van calls on Saturday and Tuesday at about 19:30.. Proper chips I say.. Proper chips.... Carnon Downs is near to Truro and also very central for the majority of Cornwall, especially if you're National Trust visitors to the area.. The site is directly adjacent to the main A road, it starts to get a wee bit noisy from about 05:00, but so what? I am actually a very light sleeper. Thanks to Simon and his staff at the site, we WILL see you again in the future. Dave & Jill Curwen (Stoke-on-Trent)

Wedding Weekend

Travelled to Truro for a family wedding and stayed at this site over the Bank Holiday with my extended family. Great facilities, pitches are really big, toilet blocks have unique shower/toilet/basin in one room, really good and 100% clean. The owners really understand what caravan/campers need.... Picnic benches available for use, games room with ping pong and excellent outdoor play area with a football pitch. Dog walk even has a water tap and dogs bowl half way around...... Visited the Punch Bowl pub for dinner twice, dog friendly and great staff...... This is an excellent site, we will be back!

Perfect

Stayed here for two weeks in June. Our first visit to Cornwall, won't be the last. We found all site staff to be helpful and friendly. This site is ideally situated for seeing the best of Cornwall as it has a central location. The site is kept exceptionally tidy and the toilet block is the best we have ever used. Such a good idea to have individual cubicles. Can't fault it!

carnon downs

Just come back from our first time at Carnon Downs, can't fault the site for beauty, cleanliness and the staff were really friendly. My husband is disabled and unfortunately this campsite is miles from anywhere if you don't have any transport and have to rely on either the bus or a taxi. Would have been really nice if there was a shop on site, if only for the essentials as a trip to tesco cost us £20 in a taxi before we bought anything. We did use the local bus service but the walk to the truro stop was downhill and awkward with having to push the wheelchair.

3rd visit & still faultless

Spent 2 weeks here from 6 July on a pitch in Thompson Way.  Toilet/shower facilities superb & the overall standard of the site is excellent.  May be worth asking for a pitch away from the the A39 as there can be road noise.  Bus stop outside the site for Falmouth & one in the village for Truro.

Lovely stay but car needed to access beaches

We stayed here recently for 5 nights (red15). What a brilliant site.  The pitches are well kept and the most spacious I have seen so far, the facilities second to none. Even the older toilet block is immaculately clean with showers which can be temperature controlled and you can stay in it all day if you wanted. Our only grip would be that the local pubs are only a short distance, but due to Cornwalls lack of pavements it's safer to drive.  The only walkable one is at the premier inn, on the other side of the very busy A30. Beaches are located nearby at Looe, Falmouth and St Maws but again you need the car to access them and be aware the roads can be very narrow... The sight doesn't have a shop or cafe/bar but a fish and chip van and Thai/curry van also visits on certain days.  Big queues are to be expected, so get your order in soon. Lovely site, I wish all were this spacious. Just a shame about having to use a car a lot.
