Tranquillity in Cornwall.
We stayed at Camelford for 10 nights at Easter and found that Robin & Ian were welcoming, friendly and helpful from the start. They keep the site immaculately clean and tidy and are always to be seen working in one area or another of the site. The site itself is easily accessible with wonderful views over the valley and is very peaceful and tranquil. The location is perfect for the Camel Trail with Wadebridge 9 miles away and the Bodmin end about 12. Tintagel is 10-15 minutes away by car as is Port Isaac whilst Bude & Padstow can be reached in about 30 minutes. There is a fantastic (but challenging!) coastal walk from Port Quin to Port Isaac which although only just over 3miles needs a good 3 or 4 hours set aside but is well worth the effort with fantastic scenery and cliff top views all along the route. Be warned that good footwear is essential though- no trainers or ballet shoes such as we witnessed!! We will definitely be returning to this site in the near future mainly for the peace and quiet afforded by the site itself. One slight quibble- it could do with a few more hardstandings as there are only 13. All in all a wonderful relaxing break.
