Mediocre Stite
We stayed at this site as it was convient for an event we were attending and luckily managed to obtain the last hard standing.
The Good Points:
Beautiful views over the valley, friendly wardens and the access straight on to the lane from which you can access a number of footpaths which are ideal for dog walks. All usual service points available. Loved the fairy lights in the trees and the general upkeep of the grounds was good.
The Could Be Better Points:
The large pylon in the middle makes quite a noise when wet or windy and those lovely views also mean you are exposed to wind and rain. The dog walk is tiny. The toilet blocks are old and tired, and certainly the ladies could have been cleaner - lots of cobwebs in the ceiling and lights, hair on the walls that looked like it had been there a lot time. Showers are not that powerful and the tiles look like they could do with a deep steam clean. The WIFI (free version) is useless but not just on this site!
The Wider Area:
Camelford itself sadly does not have many amenities and sadly since the Town Council have changed the car parks it is very difficult for any form of motorhome to part (we are under 7 metres and were prohibited from the car parks. The site does however give you good access to some of the North Cornwall attractions such as Boscastle and Tingagel, both of which cater for motorhome parking.
