Goburers go to Corwall.
We found the site easily and were soon on a pleasant pitch.
We arrived on a Sunday and in a very short time were enjoying good fish and chips from the visiting van!
The site is excellently situated for visiting many well known villages, both coastal and inland, and as it was school holidays we accepted everywhere would be busy - what an understatement!!
The motto was "go early"!. Take plenty of change for car parks (reasonably priced) and public toilets -( 20p and 50p ).
We ate in "Catch" at Mawgan Porth one day - fairly expensive but lovely fresh fish - enjoyable meal. Boscastle is always lovely - slippery path when wet but we were lucky and just had gorgeous sunshine and lovely pasties!
We visited some "off the tourist trail" places - Delabole Slate quarry - a very big hole in the ground - viewing area provided. Delabole Wind Farm (ex) visitor centre (make of it what you will ). We drove through Davidstow airfield and regret not having the time to visit the Military Museum as the write ups are very good.
We visited Jamaica Inn to make sure their cakes were as good as a few years ago - even better!
Altanun is a pretty and very ancient village on the way to the A30 and our visit to Looe - lots to see at Looe and the beach was busy in the sunshine.
This was our first visit to this site and as it seems so conveniently situated we will be back.
Our thanks to the very pleasant and welcoming wardens but the site could do with a little bit of updating; new grouting in the shower cubicles - or am I just being "picky"?
Summing up - a small pleasant and relaxed site in an excellent location - thank-you.
