We had 5 nights booked at Camelford in August, the site was easy to access which was good, no narrow Cornish roads to manouvere down! There was a fish and chip van there on the Sunday evening, so we treated ourselves to a portion of chips. They were very nice. It would be good if the club could publish on the website if/when food vans visit site. When we first arrived we picked a grass pitch by the storage area, however it was quite sloped (nose pretty much on the floor) we then moved to a hardstanding pitch opposite, perfectly level. It was a brilliant base for visiting North Cornwall. There is a small enclosed dog walk, perfect for morning and night toilet stops, with a small park opposite for a bit more of a leg stretch. Our dog was exhausted from all the day trips so didn't need much walking! We were enjoying our stay so much, we enquired about staying another 2 nights. The site showed as full, and the wardens (relief wardens, I've forgotten their names but they were wonderful and lovely!) also said it showed full, but managed to find a way to get us 2 extra nights. The reason it showed as full? Tent pitches. They have had to reserve a number of pitches for tents, and these can't be used for anyone else. These are charged at a lower rate, but are exactly the same pitches! Because of those tent pitches, this small site (only 50 something pitches in total!) was full, but actually had about 5 free spaces. Luckily, the wardens were fantastic and sorted it out allowing us 2 extra nights at this brilliant site. We didn't use the facilities, but did pop our heads in. Toilets and showers were all clean, a bit dated but look like they do the job! There is no play park or no space for children to play really so not ideal for families who want lots of space. There were a couple of families there during our stay, but because of the lack of facilities it makes for a lovely quiet site. Because this site is inland, rather than right on the coast, the wind was not really an issue at all. Having spoken to some fellow caravanners who had moved from Trewethett Farm to here because that site was so exposed, we were glad we made the decision we did! The wardens stock some items, there is a Londis shop a short walk away, and the town on Camelford is only about 10/15 minutes walk away, where there is a co-op (and a lovely pub!). If you exit the site through the dog walk, and cross and go through the park, then you can get into Camelford with footpaths the entire way. Overall, a really nice site and one we would be extremely happy to visit again.
