My wife and I first stayed at this caravan site in June, 2002 That was before there was a caravan storage area there and as we have family living in the area, we have back again every year and sometimes twice a year since then and we have always stayed for a week or perhaps ten days each time. We have always found the wardens very pleasant and helpful without exception and enjoyed our stays. No toilet block was of little consequence since we had adequate toilet and showering facilities in the caravan. I cannot remember the price at that time but after the storage area was finished, leaving just 16 pitches the cost was £5.00 per night - the slogan was 'just a fiver!', the next year it was 'simply six'. I don't recall if there was a slogan for the £7.00 year, but then it was 'great for eight' and 'fine for nine'. The cost per year increased by approx £1.00 per night each year until it was £15 in 2019. I sorted of expected that another £1.00 would be added on for 2020 but I could hardly believe my eyes when I read £20.00 for 2020, up by £5.00 and no additions to the facilities! I suppose the Director General and staff saw that this site was full most evenings mainly by one-nighters and it was a good time to wring another fiver out of everyone! We might be back there in September if the coronavirus situation improves sufficiently to allow the sites to open, but this site's fee is now well above its value! In other parts of the country, also close to motorways we stay on CL,s at £11.00 per night with just the same facilities as Cadeside and they are also much closer to shops and fuel stations!
No wonder there is major discontent among the members with the attitude of those at Club Headquarters.
