Wonderful wardens!

We had the pleasure of staying for 8 days over the Spring bank holiday week. This is a lovely site in a beautiful part of the Peak District. We 'ran' up to Solomon's Temple every day then completed the circular through the woods around the site. I agree with other reviewers, it's a nice 30-40 minute walk downhill into Buxton, past Pooles Cavern (worth a visit). As a night out tip though, the office will let you know which taxi company will do a £5 return from Buxton, which is recommended! In the bottom end of the site where we pitched, we were more than happy with pitch sizes. My only 3 star relates to the tiring shower/toilet block, but it was well kept by the great staff. We met them all on our final night when attempting to leave only for our lights to fail so we left with the van on a recovery truck ... improved the fuel economy on the way home (if Mark and the other wardens read this, it was just a fuse - took the man who knew 2 minutes to sort). Many thanks to all the staff who did their best to help and advise us, it was appreciated. Oh one last thing, we were told that the fish and chips from the Saturday evening van were good, best we have had in a long time ...
