Spent only five nights here, but loved the location. Close to plenty of things to do, peaceful and very sheltered. Not sure if two sections of the original quarry face were illuminated at night, or whether it was the setting sun, but it looked really dramatic! Buxton is a gem and the Opera House and adjacent gardens are not to be overlooked. Delightful villages abound and the pub at Monyash offers great food at great prices. The whole of the Peak District National Park is just wonderful. A walkers paradise. We live in rural Oxfordshire, which is great, but The High Peaks are on a different level! Already planning a return. Don’t hesitate…..
