Good for families

Unusual location

Stayed 2 nights in October. Directions were good, site access simple, open and well planned. Recent refurbishment is to a high standard and a real bench mark for other sites. Served by one block with multiple cubicles which are more than sufficient. Service points around the site are infrequent about can be a trek away to get to water / efuse bins etc Motor home service points excellent with plenty of room to queue if necessary without blocking the road to others. Site feels roomy with good sized pitches and creative landscaping. Quarry rock face is gently lit at night. There is no dog walk on site but there is a country park adjacent. Getting into Buxton is a long walk - 25 minutes to the edge of town for a good walker and downhill one way, uphill back. But the site does have an agreement with a local taxi company to take you into the centre of town for £6. Run by a very cheery guy who is happy to oblige and take dogs. Worthy of note - tv from your digital or lesser aerial is a non-starter. You will need to hook up to the bollard. Mobile phone signal is weak as is club supplied Wi-Fi. However you are in a Quarry pit!
