Mid-summers day in Buxton
We have spent the last 10 or so nights at the Buxton CMC site. It's a very peaceful location with the only sound the local bird song.
The site is located in an old quarry, I'm guessing Grinlow quarry and it's located a couple of miles from the Spa town of Buxton. The walk into town is through Grinlow woods and it's quite a steep trail into town. Not a problem heading out from the site but takes a little longer on the route back.
We had a fully serviced pitch which we utilised to the full given the Covid restrictions and the inevitable queues for the toilet block which only allows access to 4 people at a time. Nevertheless the facilities are first rate.
I would add that the landscaping at the site looks neglected. We are used to pristinely trimmed hedges and grass verges at CMC sites but it's all looking a bit wild, and in need of some TLC here at Grinlow.
Have a look here at some of the things we did and places to eat
