Good for families

Location great, site unkept

Stayed 7 nights, location great, nice walk to Solomons temple and walk through woods to Buxton town. Visited Chatsworth house and walked up Mam Tor, Castleton village and Bakewell. Unfortunately site looked neglected, overgrown grass between pitches, noticed many dogs being let mess on grass, there is no dedicated dog exercise area and no instructions saying do not exercise dogs on site although there is a country park only by entrance. During COVID only 4 allowed in facilities (6 on other CAMC sites), not clear instructions given when checking in of band use as many people did not know what they were meant to be doing, some ladies were taking bands in with them! Unused shower cubicle floors filthy as noticed through gap, apparently only washed once a week, should obviously be more then especially during COVID. SHAME as location is great, quiet and peaceful, just needs some TLC as mentioned in a previous review.
