Great peaceful retreat with fabulous woodland walks for dogs

Just spent four nights on this site and can’t recommend the wardens enough. From our first arrival we were greeted with smiles, patience and useful information that really helped us make the most of our stay. Whilst we were there 50 vans turned up one Friday and the wardens were still smiling at the end of it - well done. The facilities were very modern and immaculately clean. The site is well laid out and despite rain there was no puddles or flooding. There was only 2 adults and a dog in our party, so I’m not sure about facilities for children, but I didn’t see any (hence my 3 star rating) but the woodlands were full of places to explore and build dens. The other side of the woodlands from the site is also a Go Ape for the adventurous traveller. Buxton itself is worth a visit with lots of great places to eat and shop but it’s a fairly long uphill walk back. The pet shop in the middle of town has great natural treats our pup had never tried before. Great place, just a shame it’s too far away for us to travel except for big holidays.
