Fantastic Club Site
Stayed here for the weekend with our two children/dog and our friends with their 3 children. This site has recently re-opened after a refurbishment and it shows everywhere. The pitches, the roads/paths, the facilities are all in pristine condition. The site is ruggedly attractive, set in what I think is an old quarry. There is a sheer cliff face on one side of the site, so mobile reception is poor, however the service bollards all seems to have TV points. Also there is a decent amount of fully serviced pitches available. The shower block look fresh out the wrapper and is probably the best I've ever used. What I absolute love was the space in the shower cubicles and a shower where you're trusted to turn it on & off yourself! These little things make all the difference to me. There isn't a play area, however the children on our trip were very happy to make their own play within the site and also in the adjoining country park. For me, it was great to see them exploring and finding their own things to do.
Immediately next to the entrance is the Grin Low country park. You can walk into the fantastic woods, or up to Solomon's temple to look at the brilliant views over Buxton and the surrounding peaks. The walk into Buxton is mildly challenging and if you don't fancy it, a taxi is £6 each way. Definitely will be going back to this site (after I've tried Castleton)
