A unique and beautiful site in a great location and ran by a great team. Thank you!

I had been to this site as a child and have been meaning to return for some time. What a stunning location, and very well maintained and operated site. Nicely located for a walk into Buxton, through the woodland trail and past the caverns. Buxton itself is a great little town with a fantastic park/pavillion area with rowing boat hire and a few other activities for the kids. Plenty of restaurants/pubs and all the usual. We recommend the Greek restaurant called Ithaca. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and they were very helpful when we requested to stay an extra night. The small shop is great and has most things you need, including some nice fresh bakery items like bread, pastries and the compulsary bakewell pudding! Most pitches are well sized and fairly private. It was busy when we arrived but we still had the choice of several good spots. I heard a few moans and groans while I was there about the number of people allowed in the toilet blocks, and that people were not taking their rubber bands off the hook as they left, which meant people thought the facilities were full when they weren't. I don't think it's fair to hassle the staff for this, and as guests/visitors we have to take responsibility for following the guidelines, or risk losing the facilities once more. The toilet blocks were kept very clean and nearly always available when required, so no complaints from me. A lovely stay at a great site. We will be back!
