A pleasant break at an interesting, well designed and maintained caravan site

This is a very nice site. and the location alone makes it worth a stay. Historically it was a limestone quarry, and nearby in the Country Park are remains of lime kilns that turned limestone into lime mortar. The site was developed into a campsite, by the size of the trees, I would guess no more than 30 years ago. A lot of wildlife has come back and made homes within spaces in the rock faces, so bring binoculars. So, a campsite set within a nature recovery project, set within a country park, near Buxton (half hour walk through the country park) very central to the spectacular Peak District. The facilities are excellent, the wifi not bad. Staff at all times polite and helpful. What's not to like?
