Great site for Flying Scotsman viewing

We were visiting family in Bury and wondered why the site was full on the Saturday night at this time of year but found out the Flying Scotsman was in town. My husband being an amateur steam train enthusiast was delighted by this news and, after staying the night in a pub car park (with their permission as we were meeting family for lunch on Mothering Sunday) we saw the Flying Scotlsman on Sunday morning in Rawtenstall. After a lovely lunch at Owd Betts we arrived at Burrs to a warm welcome. Found our pitch no problem near the lovely facilities and realised the railway line ran behind the site. We were given a great view of the steam engine again and can see this site as being a great attraction to steam engine enthusiasts. We ate at The Brown Cow pub which is right next to the site.  The pub was very busy, food great and have never seen so many dogs in a pub at the same time, including our two. Walking dogs is easy as walking areas very near the site and great for children as play parks nearby too. There is also the famous Bury Market to visit and the area surrounding Burrs has remnants of the mill buildings and workings. We have stayed at Burrs before and will be again.
