Two weeks in Bury

Just back from two very pleasant weeks at Burrs Country Park, Bury. The wardens gave a great friendly welcome and intro to the site. Plenty of great day trips out and visited amongst other things, The East Lancs Railway, Bury Market, Martin Mere bird reserve, Malham Cove and the waterfall, Gawthorpe Hall at Padiham and MOSI at Manchester. Like another reviewer we experienced the 'alternative caravaners', who leave a mess wherever they go and it was great to see the additional security rapidly arranged. Bury is an ideal spot to stay a while, as there is so much to see and do within an hour or so's drive. We will return to find some more treasures in this part of Lancashire and as a died in the wool steam fan the East Lancs Railway is a big draw.
