Trains, park, walks and pub. What more could you ask for?

We have just come back from this site and loved it. It was our first visit. After reading reviews about how warder's behave towards dogs and their fouling we were quite worried as we were taking our dog with us but I can honestly say we had no bother at all. The warders were very friendly and the site is immaculate. There are works going on to improve some of the hard standing pitches but we were not impacted by any noise or disruption as this was a weekend visit and all work had ceased. I imagine it may be different if you are going during the week. At the edge of the site is a lovely park with plenty of room for dogs to run around off lead. There is the old Mill to wander around as well as canal and riverside walks. We followed the route available from the site office which took you past the weir and at the end gave you a view over the railway line to the site itself. The pub at the edge of the site is very popular and there is a children's play area there. It also serves meals although we didn't eat there. The only downside people may have is the cobbles to get to the site and the narrow bridge but this is part of the heritage being next to the old mill. Being just over an hour away from home this site may well become one of our frequent places.
