Quiet site on the edge of suburbia

Our journey to the site was somewhat interesting, as our sat nav took us through a housing estate and we had to admit we were not convinced we were heading in the right direction, as signage was limited. The entrance to the site could be a challenge for some, as it goes through the local pub car park, The Brown Cow, it is also cobbled, so slippy in the wet. When we finally arrived on the site we had a friendly welcome from the staff on duty, who also provided some really useful information. There are lots of things to do and access to the steam railway is only a short walk away, the track is clearly visible at the back of the site. There is good access to country walks and to trails for mountain biking and relatively easy access to Bury. The site was well maintained, with plenty of room on the hardstanding pitches, the only negative would be that the shower and toilet facilities needed updating. However, at the time of writing I note that it looks like this is happening during November, so a return visit is on the cards to check these out.
