We arrived New Years eve and stayed for 3 nights, staff were friendly and welcoming and facilities were very clean. The pitch was a good size and flat a bit muddy due to the rain. The site was nearly full and it was lovely to see some of the caravans still with Christmas lights on their outfits. We were treated to a beautiful display of fireworks from the surrounding areas, which went on from 7.30 to after welcoming in 2022! The site was surprisingly quiet and everyone we met were really friendly. The East Lancs railway was at the back of the site and it was great to see the steam trains stopping at the station and then onward journey. There is lots to see and do, Burrs Country Park has several areas for walks. Sunday was a complete washout weather wise. We had a lovely meal at The Brown Cow which is just a few minutes walk from the site. The pub is very friendly and also dog friendly,there must have been at least 10 dogs in and there was no fighting or barking. A great stay and we will certainly be back soon.
