We had a last minute trip to Burrs Country Park for New Year. We stayed for two nights, 31st and 1st. The site was lovely - very quiet, lovely, clean and safe facilities and the site staff were very helpful. Our pitch was spacious, flat and nice and dry (compared to the grass which was sodden, not surprising given the weather!!) We walked into Bury which took about 20 minutes. We stopped at both the Garsdale Inn and the Brown Cow on the way back for sustenance. No food (as it was New Years Eve and both pubs were fully booked for food) but a swift half to gird our loins for the walk 😁 Day two, we took advantage of the 2-for-1 tickets (for club members) on the East Lancs railway. We did the full line trip which was lovely and had a break at Ramsbottom for a walk up to Peel Tower and a Lancashire Rag pudding for lunch. Highly recommend this for a day out. You can break your journey at any or all of the stations. We would highly recommend Burrs Country Park and will definitely be returning with our bikes in the summer.
