Good for families

Great location

We arrived on Sunday 19/07 in the afternoon. We had never been to this site before so were not expecting the problems getting into the site!! We had cars on both sides of the drive way, cars coming towards us even tho we couldn’t turn around. There is nothing on the info about this, basically be careful when driving down the main road towards the campsite which is right at the end of the main road. I couldn’t believe how arrogant some of the people were when they could see we had a caravan on the back of our car! The wardens were ok, very friendly but looked very stressed due to the numbers they were receiving on that day. One of the wardens understood about our problems getting into the site and have spoken to the police about this but nothing has happened. We asked for the family room key and was advised it wasn’t open! but in her second breath said she would think about it. My wife then went back to the office once we pitched and was advised no to the key. We have a young toddler and would have been useful to use the family room! The next day I went over to the reception and was given the key! overall really nice campsite but the main road in is very tight at peak times with people parking on both sides of the road and not giving way to people trying to get into the campsite. I understand the wardens are under a lot of pressure at the moment with the corona virus changed and maybe at the time of me asking for the family room key things were very stressful. I would recommend this site as it’s brilliant to get to different areas. Lovely to walk in the country park, unfortunately the steam train wasn’t running when we were there but we would like to go back for this.
