Frequent visitors
We're frequent visitors to Burrs as we have family in the area. The steam train never gets old and we just love this site. Yes there are rules in line with all the C&MC sites but we always know what to expect when we arrive. The standard of facilities is very good and cleanliness excellent. I'm disheartened by the number of negative dog related reviews here, generally directed at the campers themselves. I have to say that the only dog noise we have ever been aware of was coming from the pub area or once a farm in the distance towards the Shuttleworth side, never from dogs on the site. Our dog is walked on a short lead and exercised either in the dog area or in the country park outside. The access is not for the faint hearted. The cobbled road on a sunny afternoon when teeming with visitors to the country park and pub can be a pinch point. There is quite a dip in the cobbles as you round the corner after the bridge so take it extra slow. We have visited the Brown Cow pub but it's not really somewhere we frequent very often and there can be quite a bit of noise from the pub garden in the evenings. Later arrivals (before 8pm) will find the pitches around the pub garden tend to be taken last! We have found ourselves in one of these but the noise didn't put us off too much (by bed time all was quiet). Definitely recommend this site.
