Good for families

Flying Scotsman, City of Wells and Witherslack Hall, steam engine delight.

2nd visit of the year and this one specifically booked as the Flying Scotsman was a visitor to the East Lancs railway. Service pitch booked so wife could be as near to the tracks as humanly possible and was not disappointed. Now, done with the anorak, lets clear up some issue's. I have never in all my visits to this site had any cause to complain about the attitude of the wardens and find them amongst the most welcoming on the network. Maybe it's a case of treat as you find! The facilities were clean and tidy and in full use at need of use day and night. I did not see any broken tiles however the radiator in the ladies is unsightly according to the wife and this is just an observation and a slight spoil which I am sure will be dealt with. I am bewildered at the need to blame the site for the access road which it isn't responsible for, yes, it is cobbled and not Silverstone quality tarmac but to me it add's to the ambience and environment of the site. Bones will shake if you have a lead foot, back off and it's fine. See you next year Burr's. I hope the moaning minnies are not on site when I am!
