First visit to Burrs Country Park

We visited Burrs Country Park for the first time for a four night break at the start of June. The site is located within a small country park with some nice rural views and the added pleasure of having the East Lancashire Steam Railway running across the back of the site. When a train comes everything stops and you see everyone emerging from the awnings for a peak. The site is very well kept and is very flat. The Country Park itself isn't the biggest but its a nice wander around on a fine evening. Toilet and facilities block was very well kept and maintained. In fact I'd say the the toilet block was spotless. There is also a pub right at the Caravan Site entrance which has a nice beer garden and is serving food of a good standard. We went on a day trip on the railway, where, with your days out guide you qualify for a 2 for 1 offer which is great value. There's plenty of places to eat and drink in Bury town center  which isn't far away and the Bury market was something very special we thought. The site is a great base for travelling around the area with lots to do and see in the area. Unfortunately on this trip and to our surprise we ran out of time but we will return again and have certainly added this site of ones to return too in the future.
