We used the site for 4 nights as a test run for coming to wedding next year and to try van out in autumn/winter conditions. Lovely site, toilets and showers spotless. Wardens were very helpful and friendly. We survived storm force winds and rain on the second night so the van passed its test and we stayed safe and snug despite the maelstrom going on outside. We wisely didn't put the awning up! Local shopping in Bury excellent and recommend Patisserie Bury in the indoor centre. Didn't get chance to explore country park but it looked lovely and will explore next May hopefully. Good pub immediately outside site with happy hour 6 to 7pm. Only downside for us was the road up to the site. First there were speed bumps, then cobblestones and just before the site a small but moderately steep hill with a few nasty craters. Caravan jockey wheel took a bit of a clout somewhere along the line but fortunately no noticeable damage. The cobbles I can cope with but the craters need to be fixed asap. Won't stop us coming back as we'll know what to expect next time!
