We stayed here as we were travelling on the Flying Scotsman. Excellent access to the steam trains and our pitch backed onto the train-line so we had excellent views as the Flying Scotsman steamed past. The site in in a country park so there are walks/cycle routes as well as parts of the sculpture trail. Comments have been made about lack of activities, well it depends on what you want to do. We did our homework before booking and were very happy with the site. Comments have been made about members “cutting through pitches. This did not seem to be a problem to me and if someone walks on the grass between my hard standing and the next I smile politely and say hello. I don’t consider this “my bit” (many walked across the grass to get a photo of the flying Scotsman) Outside the control of the site but worth a mention:- The brown cow pub stopped serving food at 5.45 on a bank holiday in August (a tad early we felt)and the lamplight cafe did not serve coffee?
