Enjoyable week

Just spent an enjoyable week at Burrs. When you first arrive you need to pull up at the barriers, get out of van & call warden on intercom to raise barrier. Entrance road is cobbles which will rattle your van well & your teeth!. A fair was set up on the adjoining parkland but did not cause too much noise as it had limited operating hours. Site well laid out & facilities good. Steam railway runs across rear of site - well worth a trip on it from the station in Bury. Bury is walkable (20 mins) or by bus from the housing estate at the entrance to the park. Nice new shopping complex in Bury called the Rock. The tram from Bury will take you to Manchester for a day out. Good bus services from Bury allow access to good walking routes - we did a nice one along the canal from Littleborough towards Hebdon Bridge.
