We stayed at this site for a little over 4 days and following a couple of ventures out, didn't bother again!!. The site itself is clean and tidy and the facilities adequate, the problem lies with the immediate area and so called country park, and quite frankly, where do I start : It is not as rural as we thought it would be and the misleading photos would suggest. The country park iitself is tiny and no bigger than my local town Park.  It is very poorly maintained, with litter everywhere, including spent beer cans and shopping trolleys in the river. It is very close to a large estate and as such, attracts groups of teenagers congregating, drinking  and smoking,  which made us feel very uneasy. The local pub, rather than its signage  celebrating its warm atmosphere and good food, it warns against the punishment for being found on the premises with drugs.  Overall, if you are happy with  staying on the site, it's OK, however,  if like us when you venture off the site you want your surroundings to be rural, clean, tidy and to feel safe, be very guarded about booking this site.
