Just had a wonderful three night weekend stay at the last minute thanks to the help of Sue on the site phone, as the web site booking system was playing up. Nice size pitches, well spaced out with good clean facilities despite the toilet block needing a bit of an upgrade. Great walks around the public park and great for dogs. Local pub dog friendly, a bit grubby with a basic food menu and quite expensive for what it was. Bury market is well worth going to and only a thirty minute walk away. East Lancs railway adjacent to the site but no steam trains at the moment due to the risk of fire as the surrounding area is very parched. Interesting Diesel Engine heritage weekend and trains are not intrusive. Site access has two security barriers, the first requires you to contact reception if you are checking in, otherwise use a key fob card. The wardens were very friendly to us throughout our stay, but be warned, we saw the site staff giving a well deserved telling off to a motorhome driver who decided to tailgate the car in front at high speed and he was lucky that the barrier did not drop down onto his vehicle. We will definitely return to the site.
